We Vegetal the new ecological corn litter for cats

I’m a big fan of ecological litter also because we really use a lot of it for our cats and it’s good and right for our planet to be able to dispose of the litter in an ecological and biodegradable way.
I had the opportunity to try a new ecological cat litter: We Vegetable proposed by Rinaldo Franco Spa, better known with the Record brand, of the Cat & Rina line of cat litter, this time in pure corn, completely natural and ecological.

I immediately started the test, and as you know, the litter should be replaced gradually so that our cats get used to the new substrate gradually (ehhh yes … they are delicate … and in order to avoid leaving us poops around, we need to replace them gradually, imagine finding a new toilet overnight, how would you take it?).

So I mixed the new We Vegetal litter with the litter I usually use, adding more and more We Vegetal litter day by day, until I only had the one in the toilet.

I immediately noticed that the We Vegetal litter agglomerates very well, it doesn’t smell, it’s very fine, maybe a little powdery when you pour it, but not too much, and it’s soft, so it can also work with cats used to very soft sands and with delicate paws ๐Ÿ™‚ However, we know that generally cats tend to appreciate fine and soft sand moreโ€ฆon the other hand, would you walk on angular stones to go and do your business? ๐Ÿ˜€

Once the litter box was filled with about 5 cm of We Vegetal litter, I left it available, in the large covered litter box that I have out on the terrace for my cats. To change the litter it took me about a bag and a half, taking into account that I have an XXL cat toilet ๐Ÿ™‚

As you can see from the photos (sorry if I publish my cats’ poops :P) the We Vegetal agglomerates very well, makes the ball absorbing the pee, without sticking too much to the bottom of the toilet, because it is made up of xanthan gum, an agglomerating agent of natural origin. The poo dries up, the pee becomes a solid ball and is very easy to remove.

The We Vegetal litter absorbs the smell very well, of its own smells like corn, cob, and mixed with poop it really absorbs the smell very well. She doesn’t over shed outside the toilet, so we don’t end up with beach outside the litter box. A little bit certainly spreads, but like a bit with all litter, apart from the big ones, but then we have the problem that our cats don’t always like them.

I have the toilet outside on the terrace so my cats have not left litter inside the house, evidently the grains are lost by the paws on the terrace, or in any case they do not stick to the cat’s paws.

The litter box We Vegetal is organic so it can be disposed of in the wet waste and you can throw in the toilet because it just melts. Obviously I don’t recommend throwing the entire litter down the toilet, but we can flush the poop and pee balls down the toilet, a few at a time, and rest assured that the litter will dissolve down the drain, being biodegradable.

I’ve been using it exclusively for a couple of weeks, so far I’ve limited myself to removing the pee balls and poops and I haven’t changed all the litter yet, because it doesn’t stink, it’s still all nice and clean, so it’s really long lasting.

So for me, test passed 100%I am very happy that companies are increasingly interested in producing natural and biodegradable litter, always at a lower price and therefore accessible, comfortable for us, comfortable and safe for the cat, and respectful of the environment.
